CMV: China will be the next global empire

This is fairly obvious. Just look at the graphs. They’ve already eclipsed the US in total economic output. Within the next 5 years it will be safe to say that the majority of the worlds’ economy will be concentrated in China. They have been slowly but surely expanding their military capabilities, they have the brain power and the will to do whatever they want and nobody can stop them unless there is a massive war. Open to hearing other opinions, give me your thoughts on this. <br>Edit: Ok I think we can close this thread. I think there were some good points about China’s crippled population and demographic future. It’s not looking good and I’m not sure that Chinese leadership is self-aware enough to do anything about it. However I’m also not entirely convinced that China will collapse because of it. More likely I think is that China just ceases to be an economic powerhouse in the near future and will just become another superpower among many, but not necessarily the global empire that it could have been, but I’m not ruling out the possibility of that happening either. It’s definitely possible that China could do nothing to address these problems and then collapse, which would make this a completely unfounded projection.
