I'm a very experienced linguist who is fluent in a lot of langauges including some very rare ones. I speak 16 languages fluently, but I don't like to say that I'm a polyglot very loudly because it sounds very conceited. But the vast majority of polyglots always talk about how they're polyglots and some even write books about it. I honestly think that this is not only arrogant, but also very tedious.
