The Popular Vote should be the only vote that matters for President

The electoral college was set up specifically because the founding fathers believed that the "common man" or "peasant" would only vote for what benefits them. They set it up specifically because they believed that only a few had the right to run the nation, while the peasants should be butted out. It is wrong as hell to have the vote of the common citizen overshadowed by a handful of greedy politicians. Furthermore, it may be the reason why Trump won.
