I don't really understand how people have lots of friends and connections. Like how do they do it?

I've always struggled to make friends and put myself out there. Now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I'm finally trying to put myself out there more.

lbecause I'm so done with having no one to talk to but family members. Even if I don't find really close friends, I want to have friends to do stuff with or talk to at least once a month. Like maybe twice a month. I have other family members that are like me. We both don't have friends and are just happy to have each other.

But I really feel like there is a whole world out there that I can't experience because I don't have people to go with. I can do things by myself, but I'm noticing that there are experiences I can't have alone.

Like, I know you're supposed to laugh alone when you see something funny, but sometimes I just want to share it with another person in the moment to have a moment of stranger bonding, you know?

I guess I'm just not sure how to expand my social circle. I get jobs that aren't good for that. I work behind a desk alone most of the day. I don't know how to meet new people at my hobbies.
