Someone broke into my house last night and the police in my town think it's funny. The justice system is a joke

A girl broke into my house last night and ransacked it. She was arrested on the scene. We filed charges for breaking and entering and larceny, but my local police told me they would only charge her for trespassing. That's it. All the cash and jewelry she stole is gone and they told me they won't do shit about it. This is ridiculous. This justice system is a joke. It's the exact same reason I don't bother calling the police for anything. <br><br>This was not the first time I've been a victim of a crime. The first time I was 15 and there was no one to turn to. I was arrested for fighting the guy who was sexually assaulting me. My mom was a junky. I didn't have anything, no friends no family no one. This guy would always bully me at school and pull my hair and call me a whore for no reason. One day he followed me to my house and sexually assaulted me and when I fought back I was arrested. I was put on probation for three years but I couldn't tell anyone about what really happened. I was too ashamed. All my teachers told me that I could always come to them with my problems, but I once saw a teacher turn in a kid to be arrested for nothing. So I went through all that on my own. I didn't have anyone. There is no justice in this world. None. At all.
