If I'm being completely honest, a lot of minimalist videos are a turn off, especially those that catalog their entire kitchen or something and show off their fancy "minimalist" kitchen utensils.

I'm so fucking sick of minimalism and it's importance and how it can improve your life. Minimalism is not about having a minimalist kitchen with a fancy Le Creuset Dutch oven and a Breville stand mixer. Have you SEEN the price of those things? It's fucking ridiculous.

I'm sick of watching all these "minimalist kitchen utensil" and "minimalist kitchen" videos where they're showcasing their cataloged kitchen that looks like it was professionally done and they're trying to make you believe that this is in real life, and that's the key to happiness. No, having a fucking overpriced kitchen stand mixer is not the key to happiness. All these videos make it seem like the only way to live a minimalist lifestyle is to buy a bunch of expensive shit catalog it because that's supposed to be better. It's not.

Minimalism is about living with LESS. I want to live in a tiny house and I want minimalist decor but minimalist decor should not have to be "fancy" or "stackable" or some bs like that. A minimalist home or kitchen is fine with plain stuff. Banana peels are biodegradable. You don't have to buy fancy silicone banana slicers like a lot of these minimalists do. I feel like it defeats the purpose. Minimalists are often talking about living with less, living with the bare essentials and then they go catalog all of their overpriced kitchen tools that they claim to be essential. Like that is just plain stupid.
