The multiverse timeline is a terrible plot device

Like it’s just a lazy way to write and explain away what happens in new movies. I think they used it in one of the Spider-Man movies first, and that’s kinda what started the trend, but lately it’s been really popular and I just think it’s a “oh we need to make a movie” kind of thing. Like let’s just say oh this timeline exists, and then boom we have a movie in minutes. But I just wish they would only come out with movies that either make sense or are good, because it’s not the case right now
