My husband is a republican. He believes feminism has "ruined traditional marriage" and I can't help but feel conflicted and activistily angry when he says things like this.

To me feminism is about giving women choices to make decisions about their own life.

He is upset that certain career fields are disprovenately occupied by men and they are "stuck with the bill" of being the sole provider.

He claims he wants to be a stay at home dad and he feels emasculated not being able to provide for us in this way. However he also claims that if I stay home he would feel emasculated because a woman needs to be independent and make her own money.

He has no issue with stay at home dads, but claims a man will always want to go to work because we are wired that way.

I feel like this is perpetuating a gender roll that we can't escape from and "traditional marriage" just takes advantage of the fact that women can bear children. Women are not required to be stay at home moms. We get to choose now.

We both plan on being childfree.

TLDR: My husband says he feels emasculated if a woman stays home, but also blames feminism for more women not staying home I feel conflicted and activistily angry
