Question: Do people ever gift you uneaten food from a restaurant table?

I’m a waitress and when one of my tables have leftover food, most of the time they just leave it. I feel like I’m “stealing” if I take their food, but also feel bad letting it go to waste. So I do take some food home after most of my shifts to eat after. The problem here is that it’s taken from a community fridge where other employees can take food.
I never take food from a table that’s still occupied because that would be weird and rude, even if the table did leave uneaten food.
If it is food the table has left behind and taken with the manager’s permission, does that make it okay?

Edit: Thank you so much for the responses! So it seems like I’m in the minority here, and I shouldn’t be taking the food. Which is not a problem, because I can’t stand wasting food, so I always finish all my food in a meal, even if I’m stuffed. I’m tying to cut back on drinking soda, and not buying all the snacks that are tempting at the store. I wasn’t raised to waste food, and I can’t stand doing it, so I take my food home. The rest goes on a tips jar, or for things my cat needs. Maybe I don’t need to take the food, but it’s not like I’m stealing a lot. Maybe it’s a stupid habit, but I’m no worse than the people that take food from the fridge who used it to feed themselves or their children. I just wanted to let you all know, it’s not because I’m trying to steal something I’m not entitled to.
