AITA for saying I’d Marine my kids instead of letting them do some stupid stuff?

I was having a conversation with my sil about kids. She was saying that she wants to raise her kids to be independent. I’m the opposite I want to raise my kids to be a sheltered and shelter them from anything bad especially until they are fully fledged adults. Our discussion has been ongoing for a while. She said that maybe I should consider letting her do things on her own or let them make mistakes. I asked her what if my mistake ends up with one of them being shot or beat to death. She mentioned that that she would at least have taught them well and could deal with it. I told her I couldn’t deal with that and I rather go to the extent of marinating them if that’s what it took to keep them from doing stupid stuff. She said that I didn’t think that a good idea and that it was abusive.
