I’m 110% sick of meal prepping. Why are people so obsessed?

I started meal prepping a few years ago when I was having a tough time organizing my schedule. It’s been utterly exhausting and time consuming.

I spent last weekend cooking two meals that I could use for breakfast throughout the week. I spent another 3-4 hours prepping two meals for my lunches, which is completely gone now. I’m not sure if I’m just cooking huge portions but it looks like I’m going to do that all over again this weekend if I want to be able to keep along my schedule.

I’ve tried the “single-ingredient prep” method. It’s too much for me to try to build a meal on the fly. The thought of another chicken and veggie bowl gives me nausea. I have to throw in a carb and sauce or soup etc.

I usually eat at home but I’m also prone to the occasional Taco Bell run on the way home.

I’ve never been a picky eater, but lately I just feel drained. I hate cooking and prepping and I’ve lost my appetite/ desire to try new things. I’m a college student and I don’t have the money or time for meal delivery.

Does anyone else feel this way?
