Hey everyone,

I know that I'm just a mod, but I think it's important to talk about the value of Chambers, a little bit. It's tough for a site like this, where people drop in their work and are expecting feedback. The thing is, it's Reddit. We're free, and we're not going to guarantee you anything. Chambers has thousands of chambers, each with tens of thousands of people. The people who post on our sub tend to expect us to drop everything for their work, in exchange for nothing. Mods count as part of this number, since, you know, we're just regular people who signed up to run a subreddit.

If you want to get your work professionally critiqued, or to make sure that it will get a critique, go to a paid critique service. Nobody owes you a critique of your work. That being said, if you want to get a community critique, and don't have any money, you're going to have to be a little patient, and deal with the fact that you might not get critiqued.

Writing takes work, and it's not like you're owed anything. I've been writing for years, and I've submitted plenty of pieces to various places that got rejected. In fact, most of my writing submissions have been rejected. It sucks, but you know what? When somebody takes the time to critique your work, you should be grateful, not expecting it. The same goes for this sub.

We're not a paid service, and we can't guarantee that you'll get a critique on any particular submission. If you want to get critiqued, think about what you can do for the community, and how you can be a better member. That generally tends to up your chances of getting critiqued.
