How Would A War Go if The Modern Day World Was 18th Century Europe?

It would be a conflict unlike any we have ever seen. What would happen if overnight the modern world became like the 18th Century when it came to things like states, the realpolitik of the time? The conflict would be unlike anything we have ever seen if we somehow became Europe circa the Seven Years War, but still have access to modern technology. The kind of international system we had in 18th Century Europe, when added to the modern day world and the states we have within it, would create a truly unique conflict. It would be a conflict in which things like states as we know them do not exist, but which still has the power of modern industry and technology.

The closest thing we have to this today is the Ukraine war, but even that war isn’t like how conflicts were in 18th century Europe. It is nothing like the system of states and politics that defined the Seven Years War, which involved dozens of states and saw armies fight all over Europe and in North America. So how would a war like this go in the modern day?

Well, it would be the entire world at war. Every state in existence would be fighting, and they would all fight on every continent. The war would be fought in every climate and terrain, and at both sea and in the air. It would be the most complex war of all time, the most challenging one to fight, and one that would challenge every army and nation in ways they have never been challenged before.

There is just no other war in history that comes close to matching that complexity. So much of the world, so many states and territories, and so many armies and navies working in every condition and environment imaginable. It would be as complex as, if not more complex than World War 2 was, but at a global scale. Nothing would compare to it, and no modern war would come close.
