**Money is not an indicator of success. It is the only indicator.**

A nice car will get you more girls than a less nice car. If you're in between a BMW and a Honda Civic, go home and work more and come back when you have enough money for a BMW.

You're not going to be able to afford some expensive medical treatments without it.

You're not going to get to move out of a shithole apartment without it.

You're not going to be able to afford a home without it.

The best definition of success I've ever heard is to live a life in which you do what you want when you want to do it and the people around you love you. Anyone can live the second half, but the first half you need to be rich for.

Sure, there are plenty of rich people who aren't happy and plenty of happy people who are not rich. But the rich unhappy people have the option of being happy and so much more flexibility to change their lives to become happy.

Disagree all you want, but you're in the minority. The world and markets are telling you other wise.

**Edit: A lot of people in this thread seem to equate success with happiness. I don't**
