Do you think gender roles, traditional gender roles, would even matter if women weren't the gatekeepers of sex?

Just something I have been thinking about on my commute home. I think the only reason gender roles are so major, especially for men, is because we need women to fuck and we need society to function. So we do our part to help it function and are rewarded with pussy. If men could just jack off and have a kid pop out, I'd be certain that gender roles and even traditional gender roles would be so much less important because we as a gender don't need women as much.
