What are your experiences with internships in the EU?

Hello everyone, (throwaway) account.<br><br>I'm an American studying in Germany, and this semester I'll be applying to a number of internships in the EU.<br><br>I'm looking for advice, stories, or experiences on how to obtain internships in the EU, and more specifically, Germany.<br><br>What kinds of internships did you do, and how did you obtain them? Do you know of any companies that offer lengthy internships (3-6 months)?
