How did the use of GPS affect the way you navigate?

For those who are older and used to map navigate pre-GPS era, how did it affect you when you first started using GPS?<br><br>For those who were born with an iPhone, have you ever tried to navigate a place without it?<br><br>My wife always wants to navigate with Google maps even though I know my way around. I hate it, but I'm accepting it.
