I don’t subscribe to feminism. However, if I were a feminist, here’s an example of what I would have to do: First, I would review the 28 women’s rights that were promised to me. I would go over the list and determine which of those rights I have found useful in my life. Next, I would ask my spouse to do the same — to review the 1 right he was promised, and tell me about how valuable he found it. Then we’d have an open and honest discussion about how we both view the utility of these rights — both of us. I’d ask him to listen actively to what I have to say about my rights, and I’d do the same for him. Finally, I would make a decision that considers how valuable these rights are to my spouse and I, and discuss how they impact both of our lives, and how they may impact the lives of any future humans we decide to bring into this world.
