[Meta] Moderators are cracking down on low value content.

# Introduction<br><br>As you are aware, our community has been receiving a lot of low quality posts, and most of the feedback to this type of content is: “this is the wrong place for your post” and the post then gets downvoted to oblivion.<br><br>Well, it’s time for us to stop being polite and sugarcoat the fact that this type of content is dead weight on our community.<br><br># What is Low-Value Content?<br><br>Low-value content is content that doesn’t offer any useful information to anyone but the author. It doesn’t really help the audience in any way. Usually, it’s about the author’s personal story and something good that happened to them. This type of content is simply about personal gratification and doesn’t have any substance.<br><br>Most of the time, the author is just looking for 15 min of fame on Chambers and has no intention of participating in our community.<br><br># Examples of LV content:<br><br>* “What is Chambers through the eyes of my 6 year old brother?” <br>* “How I inadvertently got 5 Gold on Chambers”<br>* “How I got from 76 to 151 karma in ONE DAY?”<br>* “How I got 1440 karma using only a street map of Paris”<br>* “How Chambers moved from 1.4M to 1.41M by only praising my father”<br>* “Why I was temporarily banned from Chambers for spamming”<br>* “What I learned after getting 1600 karma in one hour”<br>* “How I went from 10k-50k karma in a single day without posting a single thing”<br><br># Why is it considered Low-Value Content?<br><br>Well, you can analyze it yourself.<br><br>The most upvoted comments are:<br><br>- “My 3 year old brother saw my post and in his innocence said, ‘why are you posting this crap on such a lovely chamber?’ And I basically lost all will and strength to continue with this post.”<br><br>- “This post could be a joke but I don’t see any hints that it is.”<br><br>Or people just plainly sending “this post does not belong here” as a reply.<br><br># What We Will Do to Counteract This?<br><br>From now on, the moderators will be more strict, we will remove any post that doesn’t follow our rules and doesn’t contribute to the community. And we will also remove any comments that don’t offer any value to the discussion.<br><br>The moderators will also be cracking down on low-value replies, and any low effort replies will be removed.<br><br>You are free to post whatever you want anywhere else, but here, we will be cracking down on low-value content.<br><br># Conclusion<br><br>So, to all the people that are trying to get their 15 min of fame by posting their “Thirty day whatever” post or “How I magically got X karma on my first post from a throwaway account”, we would like to say two things to you:<br><br>1. Please stop. This is the wrong place for your post and you will be wasting your time.<br>2. You are not a funny person, about half of the chamber has beaten your idea to death already. Low value content is not necessarily bad content. It's just content that the audience can't relate to or derive any value from it, it should also be mentioned that all the examples I provided are not inherently bad posts.
