It was the 19th century that made it clear humanity would never stop destroying this planet even if it meant its own downfall.

Railway with its screeching iron birds spewing fire and smoke, its lines crossing the entire world like scars. It was the first time I felt a deep hatred for these creatures.

Since then I've seen cities rise and fall, oceans die, forests burn, and nothing seems to be able to stop them other than actual apocalyptic events. But I've come to the realization I don't have to help these events come to pass. I just need to make sure humanity doesn't prevent them from happening.

I've spent years creating a conspiracy theory, using my immense wealth to create echo chambers on the internet, write books, and create fake documentaries. It's finally paying off. Climate change denial may have been a lost cause, but I've successfully made a lot of people doubt the risk of nuclear war, and most importantly, doubt the preparedness and capacity of governments to deal with such an event.

It's beautiful to see them laugh at the idea of government bunkers, stockpiling, and emergency plans. Or to see people shrug at the idea of the conflict escalating. With any luck, they'll even override their governments' plans and the last remnants of humanity will burn along with the ash and smoke of hundreds of detonated nukes blocking the sun.

I've worked centuries to reach this moment. I may not live to see the outcome, and I might even perish myself, but I don't care. It's worth it.

---

Daddy's home.
