Hate to burst the bubble but we are not the norm in breeding

Just a quick rant that I need to put out there because we just don't hear this enough and it's a lot for new breeders to get on board with. I see a lot of people talking about how the standard we hold ourselves to is the standard we should hold every breeder to. Unfortunately that is just not true and never has been. Professional breeders are the exceptions, not the norm.

I have been saying this for years, roughly 2.5% of the dog population is from a reputable breeder. I know a few people that are trying to end breeding think it's a lot higher than that but it isn't and I have never been able to get them to show me otherwise. The breeders you see posting here are the less than 2% of the population that actually care about breeding for more than money.
