How do I get a literary agent... specifically I would really like to learn more about where to search for these agents and what an actual pitch looks like

Hello. So I finished writing my first high-fantasy novel. I took the first step and had a good friend, and my girlfriend, read it and both think it's very good and deserving of publication. I'd like to get a literary agent and get published. In general I understand the process but I'm having trouble finding these agents and sort of lost on how to proceed. I've had no luck on google and I'm going to be an English major specifically because I think I'd like to edit other books and help fellow authors. I'm a writer first and I've always wanted to see my book on a shelf. I really appreciate any info I can get. It's a first novel and I know specifically high-fantasy is a saturated area to jump into but I'm very proud of my work. Thanks so much.

Also, what looks like an actual query letter and pitch? Just genuinely curious.
