My mother (a police officer) saved me from a potential kidnapper when I was 6 years old.

One time when I was about 6 or 7 my mother was cooking dinner in the kitchen and I was playing in the living room when there was a knock at the door. My mother asked me to see who it was and I looked through the peephole and it was a kid, maybe around 6-8 years old, with a big smile on his face, maybe a cookie in his hand, I don't remember because I was little. I ran to my mom in the kitchen and said, "Mom, there's a little kid at the door." My mom ran to the front door and looked through the peephole and then ran to the back door and looked out of it, then ran to the kitchen window, all with a look of extreme urgent fear on her face. She called the police as she slowly walked back to the front door to the little boy, acting like she was talking to a normal person at the door, and said, "Sorry little boy, my husband has been in a car accident and is in critical condition, so I must call 911 right now." (My father was not in a car accident and was completely fine). The little boy said, "Would you like to come with me and my dad can drive you to the hospital?" My mom pretended to be so distraught that she couldn't say anything and just shook her head.

When the police pulled up, this little boy ran into the woods behind our house and out of sight. When the officers came to our door they were acting strange, almost as if they were mad at my mom for disturbing them with a call that turned out to be nothing. My mom insisted they search our property, but they were very stubborn about it until they finally agreed to search the woods behind our house. My mom told them exactly which way the little boy ran. After about 5 minutes of searching with flashlights in the dark, they found a guy hiding behind a tree with a pillowcase in his hand and a stocking over his face. I believe they charged him with attempted kidnapping, but the guy had no ID on him and had never been convicted before, so I don't know what ended up happening to him. The police never ended up finding out the name or age of the little boy either, my mom said they said the guy had a record and was known to kidnap children but they had no idea where he came from. My mom said she could tell that when she was at the door the guy was going to cover her mouth and nose with chloroform and that is why he had the pillowcase.

My mom told me this story when I was much older but I remember the incident and the police at my house.

Edit: I understand that the username "golddigger88" is associated with racism, but I assure you I am not a racist and I am not associated with the racist chamber that uses the username "golddigger88."
