We already had a crisis from our "enlightenment" of how animals have to be treated, only to discover how horrific their treatment is in many parts of the world. There is an existential crisis as part of the experience of discovering you're being fooled and tricked into participating in their suffering.

A new existential crisis seems to be emerging due to climate change.

Is there a level of consciousness beyond that which we are currently able to perceive? If we ever gain access to such a level of consciousness, will we discover an existential crisis far worse than the one we're currently suffering through? One that is not just about animals or the planet, but about all of existence, including the stars we're terrestrial bound to.
