We now have proof that Donald Trump is an “illegitimate” president. According to former White House National Security Adviser John Bolton, Trump sought help from Chinese President Xi Jinping to win re-election. That’s exactly what Trump was accused of in Ukraine and it resulted in his impeachment by the House, although he was later acquitted by the Republican-controlled Senate.

Bolton’s accusations against Trump are contained in a 592-page manuscript for a book he has written, details of which were leaked by the New York Times on Wednesday. Bolton is expected to testify in the Senate about the book, which The Room has obtained in its entirety.

The Bolton revelations come after months of denial by Trump that he did not solicit foreign interference in the 2020 election. The revelations are contained in a manuscript copy of Bolton’s book that the White House has been reviewing these past weeks. The book is titled In The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.

The manuscript has been circulating inside his publishers, Simon & Schuster, and in Washington, but it has not been made public. The Room has obtained a copy of Bolton’s book, from which we shall be publishing several excerpts in coming days.

Bolton was sacked as Trump’s third National Security Adviser last September 10, after serving for 519 days. His sacking followed a disagreement with Trump over a peace deal with the Taliban.

According to Bolton’s book, Trump asked Xi to help him get re-elected. Bolton overheard Trump make the request to Xi during a closed-door meeting at the June 2019 G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan.

“Trump then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming US presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability to influence the ongoing campaigns, pleading with Xi to ensure his re-election,” Bolton wrote in his book.

Xi agreed on both counts, Bolton reported in his book.

Bolton also wrote that Trump was impleaded by the Justice Department in the case the US brought against Huawei for breaking Iran sanctions.

This was Bolton’s version: “The next morning, Saturday June 29, Trump had a meeting with Xi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. Trump gave a glowing review of Xi during the public portions of the bilateral meeting with Xi before they met without press present.

“He then proceeded to do a 180-degree turn in the private meeting. Trump said China had been taking advantage of the US for 25 years (actually, it was 40 years, since 1979) and that this was his first opportunity to do something about it.

“Trump handed Xi a copy of the South China Morning Post with a picture of the SHENHUA/COSCO ships, saying ‘you’re going to have a big problem’. Xi said there was no need to worry about Huawei, that it was a private company, and that the US had nothing to worry about with respect to Huawei’s relationship with the Chinese government.

“Trump said several times that the US/China.cycle was so important to him that he was willing to put other issues on the backburner, including the Uighurs and human rights. He also said several times that the generals and others at the Pentagon want him to be tough on China because they want a war.

“Xi said that China would buy an unspecified but ‘tremendous, huge’ amount of farm products, and Trump said several times how easy it would be to sign a trade deal. He just needed the huge farm product purchases, and the problem with Huawei would go away.

“The subjects of the currency, 2025, IP theft and the South China Sea were not mentioned at all.

“Towards the end of the meeting, Xi said that the two sides would get a deal, it was just a question of time. Trump said several times that Hillary Clinton would have been much tougher than him. Xi replied that the two sides had to be careful to avoid the ‘butterfly effect’ where a small event causes a big problem.

“When Xi brought up the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Trump said several times that it was good for China to stimulate its own economy and that was good for the US because China was helping the global economy. Xi said the BRI was very important for China and was not a G-2, and Trump said ‘there won’t be a G-2, because I can be very tough or not depending on what I get in return’.

“He wanted a big deal because this would help him win re-election, which would be good for China. Xi replied that Trump’s re-election would be good, saying that the US China relationship was the most important in the world.

“The meeting concluded with Trump saying a deal was 90% done, and that it would just take an afternoon to finish it. Xi said that the two sides would get a deal, it was just a question of time.”

**THE WORST IS YET TO COME**

**:Trump remains in the Oval Office, a threat to global peace**

**Trump is desperate for a second term**

**:He will stop at nothing to retain power**

**From In The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir**

**:Details of Bolton’s book, which The Room has obtained in its entirety**
