I have a theory for Attack on Titan. (Manga Spoiler)

**Spoiler Alert ~~!!!~~** Do not read if you haven't read the managa.<br><br>There has been a lot of people posting a lot of crazy theories in this sub, and I thought ok, well why not. I have a theory that I developed myself. <br><br>I have read and watched Attack on Titan for quite some time, and one question has been on my mind the whole time, "Why is the world set in the 1800's?" Well, the real Attack on Titan world world is not set in the 1800's.<br><br>I believe the Attack on Titan world is actually in the future, the Industrial Revolution was first sighted in 1760, it then became a main driving force. If it was able to continue like it did in the real world, it's likely that in world technology would have taken a major leap. With the new technology a lot of new jobs would be developed and with more jobs more people could be employed, giving them a chance to live a better life. On world they aren't in that era yet. They're behind on technology, but it seems like they could afford making better weapons and tools. They've already made 3D movement gadgets, trenches, and better equipment. They didn't develop those things by hand, they needed a lot of machinery in order to perfect the technology we have now. I think they discovered the machinery, but it ended up backfiring. With every new technology developed, a new problem arises. In the Attack on Titan world, when they developed machinery a problem arose. As all the people with Blue eyes were over time wiped out. There was a war between Blue eyes and Green eyes, ending it with Blue eyes being eliminated. The only people left are the Green eyes. <br><br>This is why there is no Green or Blue eyed people, because when all the Blue eyed people were killed, the Green eyed people became scared of becoming like them. So they decided to live as people like us do today. They set themselves back and didn't use the machinery anymore, and so the only people born with Green eyes are kept in hiding. That's why the Titans are only after Green eyed people, because they carry a special gene that is needed for the advancement of technology. The Titans are controlled by the government to find out who has the gene by tracking down Green eyed people and eating them to absorb the gene. After they absorb the gene, they could send a message to the government that a Green eyed person was found, and where they were found, so the government can capture them. This is the reason why Titans can be killed with the 3D gadgets. The 3D gadgets are just like the machinery used to develop Blue eyes. The government is using the Titans to find the Green eyed people, and then capture the Green eyed people and use them for their own good. The Titans are the ones who keep the Green eyed people from living in peace because they ate the people who were the government and took over and hid in the shadows. The reason why the walls were built are to keep the Green eyed people locked in and to keep titans from going outside and eating people who don't carry the gene. This is why the walls are only inside Paradis, and why the Titans don't care to go outside and eat more people who don't carry the gene. <br><br>This is my theory, sorry if it's a bit confusing. Let me know if you want me to correct any mistakes. I'll try to fix it.
