I (28M) work at a well funded tech startup in San Francisco, and all things considered, I make quite a lot of money. My base salary is just over $300k, 1% annual vest on $10 million RSU, and last year my total compensation including vesting was over $500k. The investors are very confident in the company's prospects and expects to double valuation in the next 18 months.

The work is stressier than anything I have done before though. The hours are long and I PPO for the company, so I am responsible for a lot of issues happening outside of business hours. I perhaps spend 12 hours a week doing context switching, which is really draining for me. The company is run by a couple of type A personality people who are very aggressive on goals and timelines. The pace of the company is not sustainable and a lot of people are burning out.

I have been here for 3 years and feel like I need to get out at some point. But the money is very seductive. I can literally see myself retiring in 10 years if I stay here. I'm not sure if I can ever get back to this compensation at any other company.

What do people think?
