Apple has sued third-party app developer Rendition for breeching patent and trademark laws with its multitasking app for iDevices. On Monday, lawyers for Apple, who’s headquarters is in Cupertino, California, confirmed a lawsuit against the app developer who’s own headquarters is in Ireland. Apple said the app infringed on two of its patents and had also used a version of the firm’s apple logo in its marketing. Rendition’s app, which went on sale in recent weeks, is said to have used the same logo as Apple, transposed to appear like a ’black hole’ chewing up a computer screen. According to reports, the legal action is related to Apple’s claims of patent infringement and trademark, as well as the supposed false advertising that corresponds to it. The app, which was launched in August 2023, is said to violate two of Apple’s patents and is also accused of using a version of the Apple logo in its marketing.

Dos Owls.
