After two years of wrangling, the European Union has approved new rules banning the sale of products made using forced labour, in what the bloc claims is an attempt to end modern slavery. In a statement released on Tuesday, the European Commission said the new rules will "effectively prohibit products made with forced labour from being marketed, sold or exported from the EU."
