Hey guys, hope you're doing awesome.

I know it's been a long time since I posted anything, but this one was worth it. I'll probably post more in the future and perhaps some recipes.

First of all, I'm sorry if I made a mistake. I write in English but I'm not fluent.

I run a mealprep business in Spain and we deliver around 1000 meals each week. (We had more but then the COVID hit and a lot of gyms closed so people stopped buying). We have a small kitchen and I've only got 2 more people helping me.

One of the things that I've learned is that you people love tips on how to avoid the nightmare of mealprep so I'll leave you one that will make your life much easier. And today I've had the most horrible experience and that's why I'm here sharing this tip with you to avoid making the same mistake that I did.

**DON'T COOK AND FREEZE DOGS**

Long story short, one of our clients is a very picky eater and he doesn't like eating healthy food. I had to come up with the "healthiest" sausage that I could find and now we're preparing around 60 of these a week. We just had to throw away 180 of them because they went bad.

This makes me think about the people in this chamber that talks about freezing 100 burgers.

Don't do that. You can do it with a lot of things but not sausages.

If you want to do 100 burgers, split them into 5 bags of 20. If 20 go bad, then it's not a problem but if 100 go bad then it's a real problem.

I tell you this because today we had to throw away 180 dogs. You don't want to be in my position right now.

**TL;DR: Split in smaller portions before freezing to avoid waste**

EDIT: Hey guys, didn't expect this to go viral.

Yes, we can't do any other meal for this client and we can't force him to eat.

Yes, I understand that I could do smaller portions but then you have to think that I do 1000 meals a week and run a small business and I don't have time to do that much work for only 60 meals.

Yes, I was stupid and I should have known better. But the point of this wasn't to complain for what I did wrong but to let you know in case you wanted to do something similar.

Yes, I should have taken a picture. I was not expecting this post to go viral and I didn't have any proof so I didn't want to lie about it.

Yes, frozen foods can last up to 8 months in the freezer but this doesn't apply to all foods. I didn't know that sausages were not supposed to last that long but now I do.

I appreciate very much your comments.
