How to get in touch with a guy who is unmotivated and has no friends?

I've been seeing a guy for a couple of months and I'm a bit concerned about my latest discoveries. I invited him to hang out with me and my friends and to my surprise, he said he doesn't have any friends (I'm German, he's Italian, both in our early 30s).<br><br>He told me he has a hard time making friends and once he made one, he manages to lose them due to being unmotivated and lazy. He said he's struggling with this for 3-4 years now and it's just a big deal for him to get out of bed and do something. <br><br>On top of that, he has a hard time getting in touch with others which makes it difficult to interact with my friends and family. I understand he has some difficulties but I'm also concerned that I might be his only friend outside of work, which is not really my cup of tea. <br><br>I'm worried that I'm not doing enough to support him, so I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to help him, if it's even possible.
