My 28F son 24M has a habit of checking his phone in the middle of things that are important for us to focus on. It has become a huge issue that I’m struggling with.

My first issue with this is when he was super excited to go skydiving. He went through all the training courses and the instructors said they were ready to go. It was time to suit up and the moment they walked out to the plane to board it he suddenly had to stop and check his phone and respond to a message. When we were on the plane he was sitting beside me and he kept checking his phone even though he knew full well that you’re not supposed to have your phone on during a flight.

These are incidents that happened recently but he’s also done this in school. I’m not sure what he did in classroom with his phone but his teachers have told me to talk to him about constantly distracting the other students because they’re all looking at his phone.

My biggest issue is that yesterday I took him to his chiropractors appointment to cure this back pain that he’s had for a while that we think is from his job that requires a lot of lifting. I go there with him, I’ve never been to a chiropractor before but it’s no big deal how bad can he be hurt, right? He’s in a lot of pain. They take us into the room and the chiropractor comes in and explains everything. He’s sitting there on the table the chiropractor is explaining what he’s going to do and I see him pull his phone out of his pocket and scroll through it. He puts it away when the chiropractor is about to crack his back and as soon as he was done he immediately pulls it out again.

I’m at my literal wits end. I don’t know what to do. I’ve told him to put his phone up a million times. I literally watched him completely ignore a doctor because he was on his phone.

Any advice would be helpful
