I'll never make a minimalist sim for the Sims 4 again

I (28F) bought the Sims 4 for my mom (55F), but then wound up playing it for 12 hours with her simsona (me). Since I go in and out of minimalism all the time, I decided to go for a minimalist build. I used the "one box" approach to keep my boxes organised and all of my possessions brought with me, I didn't purchase anything from the market. I decided to "declutter" all of the items that came with my first (middle class) home, which was my goal in real life, to make my home more minimalist. At first I sold them all, but then I got tired of selling, and decided to "recycle them" (aka delete them).

That was fine and good until my sim got a career...and decided to use the items that came with the home for work! They would walk around and go, "This isn't what I needed, this doesn't work for me, this is broken," because they were trying to use the items that I had deleted! I got frustrated and was going to reload a save, but I had forgotten and deleted the wrong saves. So I had to start over.
