I Spent The Last 3 Years Cooking Every Meal For My Girlfriend Without Telling Her, Here's How I Pulled It Off

Hey guys, I took my girlfriend out for a bite to eat at Applebee’s, then at the end of the meal I told her I cooked every meal she’s had for the last 3 years, and she didn’t even notice. This was my way of informing her of the fact that I spent the last three years cooking every single meal for her, both at home and when eating out. You see, after I met her 3 years ago, I discovered she was one of those “I can barely make ramen” girls, so I decided to take it upon myself to cook for her every chance I got.

I started off with the obvious stuff. Making supper for us every night, cooking breakfast on the weekends, giving her sandwiches when we’d go on picnics. Soon enough though, I got bored with just doing that. I wanted to really show her my cooking skills, so I started branching out into the more difficult stuff. Whenever she wanted to go out for a bite to eat, I’d call ahead of them and ask if I could cook in their kitchen. I’d come in at 8 am one morning, prepare all of the food, leave my sauces and seasonings with the chef, then come back 12 hours later and have a delicious meal with my girlfriend.

I cooked at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Applebee’s, and even Waffle House. Sometimes it would be difficult, especially when I had to cook in a smaller kitchen like the one at Cracker Barrel. But with a little bit of planning, I could do it almost anywhere. I even cooked on a cruise ship we went on one year, and I must say, that was probably the hardest. Not only was the kitchen smaller, but I had to find ways to preserve the food between meals, and I didn’t want to come on too strong by telling the chef all of my secrets.

I remember one time we were going to a more upscale restaurant in town for a date, and I got there at 10 am to cook everything. The head chef, who had agreed to let me cook the day before, was very friendly and showed me all of their equipment. He even let me utilize some of his best ingredients, which gave the food a very professional taste. That night, I took my girlfriend to the restaurant, and she said it was the best steak she’d ever had. I wish I could go back and tell her I cooked it. Maybe someday.

After a while, I got so used to cooking everywhere that I stopped bringing her to actual restaurants, and instead would cook somewhere else and just pretend like it was the actual restaurant. She’d always talk about how good the food was, and while I’d have a little laugh to myself, it was starting to get a little embarrassing. I had to tell her soon, or else it would just feel like I was trolling her. I finally mustered up the courage to tell her one day, when we went back to the first restaurant I ever cooked at. It was a little scary, I’ll admit, but I knew she’d take it well. She looked back at me with tears in her eyes and said she’d never experienced that kind of love for another person before. I could tell she was a little upset at first, but after I told her how good of a time I’d had, and how happy I was I could do it for her, she smiled and told me she was the happiest woman alive.

That’s when it hit me. All this time, I wasn’t cooking for her because I thought she couldn’t. I cooked for her because I wanted her to feel like the queen she is. I cooked for her because I wanted to show her how deeply I cared about her health and wellbeing. I cooked for her because I love her.

We still go on dates, and guess what? I still cook all of the food. It’s our little secret. Oh, and if you read this and thought “But Red Lobster is expensive. How did you ever afford to go there so many times?” Well, my answer to you is this; I didn’t. I cooked all of the food, and when we went there to eat it, I’d always ask for the Peek At The Kitchen Tour, then I’d slip the chef $20 and tell him I brought some food from home. I guess you could say it was my own form of VIP service.

Edit: WOW! I didn’t expect this many responses. Thank you so much for the comments and messages. I love reading all of them. For those of you who have questions, I’ll try to get to as many of them as I can.

Edit 2: I know some of you aren’t buying it because restaurants don’t really allow this. I’m sorry for that. I can’t say they don’t because I’m sure they do. But I live in a small town in the south, and the people at the restaurants I went to were very nice. So yeah, it could be made up. It was still a fun story though.
