Have you ever had to stop yourself from doing something dumb to pro gun people?

I'm a pretty vocal anti-wannabe-alt-right gun control person who is pro regulations. I've lived in a lot of different places and I used to be super pro gun before I realized how many problems there actually were with universal background checks, lack of licensing, and lack of training. I started advocating for licensing, universal background checks, and training, and I get tons of messages from gun owners saying I'm a plant to help break the second amendment.

I'm active enough and I have enough friends and family who are pro gun that I get invited to events and stuff.

I went to a gun show last weekend and there was a vendor who is pro gun control. He's got voting for Biden and Beto stickers on his gun case and he's selling all these pro gun control things. I was talking to him and he was a really nice guy. I joked to him "I appreciate your content man, it's nice to see someone who shares my views" and he goes "nope, I'm just trolling them all I don't give AF" and we both laughed.

I go to a different vendor and he's selling ars. I see one that I like and he says it's 800$. It's a pretty nice set up and I'm about to say sure, I'll buy it.

Then I remember the first guy I talked to. I can just imagine his face lighting up when he tells me how he trolled a bunch of rsrs and I can picture him and his friends having a good laugh that he got to troll a bunch of conservatives.

I just think it's funny, this vendor literally lost a sale because I didn't want to give this guy more fuel to troll people with. I ended up not buying a gun at all because if I got one from a different vendor he'd just know that I got one and it wouldn't be as fun for him, you know?

I just think it's really funny that people who I disagree with politically are actually causing me to do nice things for strangers.
