I caught a 15-hr flight today and I would have never got off if I was on a window seat. Why isn't it illegal to sit and look at the entire airplane if you don't have a window seat?

Firstly, I have never flown before, and today I caught a 15-hr flight from Melbourne to Dubai. I love flying, and as soon as the seatbelt sign is off, I was in my aisle twice to look at the window. I had a middle seat - I quickly figured that not a single window seat was occupied, and I was so happy to look at the window as many times as I could. Some people in their window seats look annoyed and don't even let you take a photo, and I really think it's unfair. On my next flight I have a window seat, and I really hope not a single person asks me to look, let alone take a picture. It's so unfair, and today I feel like the luckiest person. I had the best time ever in the plane, and I'm so happy I got to enjoy it.
