I am an absolute beginner in the kitchen, and I have been meal prepping almost every week for over 3 months now, so I thought I’d do a quick post on this. This is a great prep that doesn’t even taste like a prep, and can be made very fast as well.<br><br>This idea doesn’t really have a name, but it's the simplest prep I have ever tried, and almost every week, I just end up making this. The prep involves cooking all your vegetables and protein in a single pot of water. I personally prefer chicken over beef or lamb, because of the flavour, so I have used chicken here. <br><br>The.protocol is simple: To a large pot, add water, and then add all your vegetables to it, along with your protein, and cook them all until all of it is done, takes about 15-20 minutes. It doesn’t even need monitoring, so it’s perfect if you want to watch a movie in the background, or read a book while cooking. Once everything is cooked, drain all the water, and separate the vegetables and protein. Mix the veggies with olive oil, salt, add any sauce you like and let it sit for 30 minutes to soak up the marinade. I personally like to add a little remoulade sauce and a pinch of salt. In the end, I just top it with boiled chicken, and it’s a great salad, or just add it to any grain of your choice.<br><br>The best part of this prep is that the water is not wasted, I personally like to add a couple of potatoes to the water because potatoes are the best starch to go with any prep. You can also use the water as a broth, to make it even more flavourful, you can add some chicken or beef stock, and a little bit of a spice. While boiling the vegetables, they end up leaking all their flavour into the water, so this is a great way to make a delicious soup. What I do is that I drink the broth with potatoes as a snack, and use the rest as stock in my next meal.<br><br>Let me know if you have any questions about this prep in the comments below, I will be happy to help.
