CMV: The educational system in America and most of the world is completely messed up. It should be completely redone.

I think the system is really flawed because we're expected to learn too many subjects (for instance, I happen to be good at math and English, but they require all sorts of other subjects that I'm not good at). We could make kids choose what subjects they want to do and then they could have extra time to improve in that field and have more extra-curricular time too.

The same goes for High School. All kids are required to do 4 years and we all have to take the SAT's and other tests to get us into colleges. I think there should be a certain amount of school that is required to get a High School diploma, but after that you should be able to go on a path that is most likely going to get you a job. I should be able to pursue a career-related path in High School if I want to be a doctor for instance, and not have to take all the other useless classes.

Now for college. It is way too expensive, especially for the amount that you have to pay as well as the amount of time. I think that we should have more job training for all the jobs that require degrees, and a way for people to save up money as well. For instance, we could have people do internships and all kinds of things to help them achieve their dream jobs.

Any thing I missed, or disagreements you have?

Edit: Sorry if I haven't replied to some of the comments, I've since lost them because I had too many notifications.

Edit: I've had a few people mention vocational training. That's a great idea and is pretty much what I was thinking of for High School.
