So, I am working away from home, there is no way I can just leave my job because I feel lonely; plus, it's good experience. I'm 30, and I'm not sure how to make friends now that I'm older, because most people my age are married with kids and it seems like they've formed their tribes already. Being lonely isn't new to me, I'm used to it and I don't feel sorry for myself, but I'm tired of it and I'm trying to find ways to be happy and less lonely.

I miss the freedom of being single, to move to a new city for work, to be on my own schedule and to travel wherever I want. I don't want to be in a relationship because I'm lonely, I want to be in one because I'm ready and happy. I just genuinely want to hear from people how you cope with the loneliness and isolation. Is there a solution?

Edit: I'm reading all the comments and I want to say thank you to everyone. I don't know if you do it often, but for me it was a very therapeutic post and it made me think about all the things I can do and change. Thank you.
