i was adding frozen spinach to all these recipes, and they all had this dirt taste, i found out the problem by just boiling the spinach in water normally and found it tastes like dirt. i dont know if it's an acquired taste, but why would i eat something that tastes like dirt? stuff like kales, collard greens, turnips, and broccoli, i love them, the spinach can go though.

i did read somewhere that that the earthy taste was called an earthy taste because of the geosmin contained within the spinach, geosmin is also found in the mud, soil and the lake. so yeah spinach literally taste like dirt.
