Unhinged This Week

This has been the most unhinged I’ve ever seen things. Our dumbass PM has finally announced a full lockdown after weeks of dicking the nation around. Trump has shat his pants, the country is in shambles, the ultrashit have threatened to take their guns and get to work, and the fucking news is getting worse and worse by the day.<br><br>This is the first time I’ve experienced pure, unadulterated, anger. It’s exhausting me. I’m so fucking angry that I’m shaking. I’m so fucking angry I want to scream.<br><br>However, I do want to say that I’ve never been so proud of Australia. We all fucking hate the PM Scott Morrison and he’s done a terrible job. But we’ve rallied behind each other. Every single one of us is doing our part and every single one of us is looking out for each other.<br><br>I thought I’d come here. I’m not sure why, but I wanted to chat with you guys for a bit.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>EDIT: Surprisingly, this blew up overnight. I’ll try to answer some questions here in this post for people, and I’ll try to go through the comments. Just a few things...<br><br>1) Australia is going to lockdown from midnight tonight. We’re being told this will last at least six months. <br><br>2) We’ve had a LOT of talk about the US stockpiling. This is 100% true. Our PM and his government are close friends with Trump. They’ve done a lot to trade off our medical supplies for things like coal and other natural resources. <br><br>3) Australia’s healthcare system is heavily based off of America’s healthcare system, and not the UK’s. This was something that was discussed when our current government took over a few years ago. <br><br>4) We’re not getting our stimulus yet. It will be around five weeks until we get our first payment, and another nine weeks on top of that for the second. <br><br>5) Australia does not have a lot of ability to pump out medical supplies, as they are made in China. I really hope that the rest of the world can step the fuck up and make some now. We desperately need them. <br><br>6) The lockdown is going to affect a lot of people, because the government is saying that if you lose your job during the six months that you will not be getting any financial assistance. We’re going to have a lot of homeless people in the coming months. <br><br>7) I’m not sure how Trump is going to continue to ignore the rest of the world. Every other country is stepping up their game and telling their citizens to go home. <br><br>8) I’ve been seeing a lot of questions about Australia not letting in anyone that is not a citizen or a resident. We’re not. However, there are a lot of people in Australia who are still waiting for their citizenship. I am one of them. I’m worried that people like me will not receive any assistance as we’re not technically citizens, but we cannot return to our original country because they will not let us back in without a visa. <br><br>9) There’s been a lot of people saying that Australia has been handling things well. In reality, we’re six weeks behind and have been given a lot of time to prepare. The government has squandered that time and put us in the position we’re in now. The government has also not given us any information, as well as barred anyone who is critical of them from speaking to the press. <br><br>10) The lockdown is going to be strict. We’re being told that we cannot go outside at all. If we do, we will be fined up to $13,000 AUD, which is a lot. We will not be receiving any mail. We will not be receiving any deliveries. The police have already been given authority to break into our homes if they “suspect” we have someone else in the home with us. The police have already been warned that they will not be held accountable if they were to accidentally kill anyone while doing this. <br><br>I hope that answers a few questions.
