Meal prep is as much about the money as it is about the health and convenience

I've been trying to convince a few of my friends to start with meal prep. Last week, one of them admitted to me that he was spending an average of $250 per week for lunch at work. He added that he was familiar with the meal prep concept but never tried it because he "doesn't know how to cook" (he was raised by a single mother that always worked double shifts at the restaurant so she was never home to teach him any cooking skills).

I offered to teach him a couple of basic meat/rice/broccoli and chicken breast/pasta/salsa recipes.

Last week, we went grocery shopping and I helped him make 5 meals, on a Sunday afternoon. He told me that those 5 meals cost him $30 and last him the whole week.

This week, he tried making a couple of different recipes and bought the ingredients by himself. He didn't need my supervision anymore.

Not only did he save $200 every week, but he also admitted that he lost 2Kg in two weeks.

I know this is a meal prep chamber and you probably all know this, but meal prep is as much about the money as it is about the health and convenience.
