I just came back from the gun range with my 2 boys, and we just shot a rifle for the very first time.

We all loved it more than shooting a handgun, due to how much easier it is to accurately shoot from the beginning.

Been focusing mostly on pistol shooting for awhile, but now I will definitely make an effort to spend more time shooting my rifle.

It was a pleasant day at the range all around. My older son is getting a little better at hitting his target. He actually is not a big fan of shooting, so I don't push it. My younger son wants to shoot all the time, but isn't very good quite yet. He was very excited when he finally hit the target. He was convinced that by his 3rd time shooting a rifle, he was already better than my older son at shooting a pistol. He named the rifle "Ted" because it's "super easy to shoot."

I actually forgot my ear protection at home, so I had to buy ear protection at the range. I was a bit annoyed for a brief moment, but then I realized that I get to spend the day outside, shooting guns with my boys, so I should actually be feeling blessed and fortunate, not feeling frustrated by my stupid mistake. We all had a lot of fun, and I felt very grateful for the opportunity to spend time like that with my boys. The sun was even shining just right at the end of the day, so we were able to walk out of the range looking at the pretty mountain views around us.
