How did Florida get the tag of being filled with as many wackos as it is?

I'm Canadian so I don't hear stories of Florida from the media unless it's massive like the Parkland shooting. But from what I've seen, Florida is like the only place where things like this happen. I see posts on Chambers of people losing their shit only to find out they live in Florida. It seems like every time something weird happens like a mass murder or someone copulating a tree, it only seems to happen in Florida. It seems like the only time I hear of Florida, is when it is something absurd. Just a general feeling I've experienced.<br><br>What happened in Florida?
