My father claims our government is testing a device that can make people believe they are under alien surveillance

Sorry if this is the wrong sub/ doesn't make it past mod approval, I just found this really weird and fit the "unpopular beliefs" sub the best. I have no evidence/backing for this claim, it's just what my father told me.<br><br>My father recently chimed in my conspiracy theory research (I was listening to a video on the Mandela effect), saying that an old co-worker of his used to tell him stories about some classified government testing he took part in. His job was to test the effects of some kind of device by living in a model house that was similar to a typical house in the suburbs. <br><br>Apparently the device was designed to be able to make people believe, through some kind of mind manipulation, that they were under alien surveillance. It was supposed to make you feel like you were being watched by aliens, and even make you see/hear aliens in some cases, or so my father said. My father claims the testing went on for several years, and was being done with cooperation from the US government.<br><br>My father isn't sure if these devices are currently in active use, but he claims the testing went on from about '96 to '06. I tried looking into this, but to no avail. I'm skeptical of the claims, but I can't help but wonder if there is any truth to them.<br><br>My father claims the testing was centered in the New Mexico area, and that the device was under development in some capacity for at least a decade before the testing began.<br><br>In short, devices that can make people believe they are under alien surveillance have allegedly been in testing for around a decade in the suburbs of New Mexico.<br><br>EDIT - I'm sorry for not responding to everyone, but I appreciate all the info you guys have been sending my way.
