My dad (51) is furious I (23f) didn’t let him buy me a house as soon as I graduated

The first time I visited my hometown in 2 years, I told my parents I wanted to look at houses to buy. They were surprised and said I should have done it a year ago. I don’t believe that, and I have no problem taking my time to find the right house. <br>My dad was furious I didn’t ask him to buy it for me. He is still furious to the point where he refuses to visit my new apartment. He lives 10 minutes away so it’s not far at all. <br>He says he can afford it and then accuses me of being selfish and thinking I’m better than him and making him feel worthless. I don’t think any of that at all, I just want to do my own thing. I didn’t finish 8 years of school to have my parents do everything for me. <br><br>How do I show him I appreciate him without making myself feel like a failure?
