How do you feel about results from the debate?

This sub was in the middle of creating an account for a google spreadsheet to track how likely voters felt about the debate when my phone died. I will share them in the next hour.

On a personal note, I feel a few things:

First, I feel very proud that our group was immediately able to come together to collaborate on a project. The speed, organization, and camaraderie of our group is what will fuel a 🚀 comeback. We have like 5000 comments created in the last hour and many of them are people asking questions like “how do I get involved in the campaign? How do I join the canvassing team? How do I donate”. We are an impressive group of people.

Second, I feel like got a glimpse of how Donald might have felt during his first presidential debate. He knew that he had to make a strong first impression because he was the underdog going into the debates. Is it my imagination or did he just seem more energetic, focused, and aggressive last night?

We got pummeled last night.

I think it is obvious that he has spent a lot of time preparing for the debate. He has a lot of attacks that he uses to deflect questions that aren’t going well.

I think he might have honed in on a few phrases that poll well. He mentioned the phrase “the radical left is coming for you” at least once a minute. I also think he learned to stay within the boundaries of the debate rules. Do you remember back in the day when Trump would say something like “well I don’t know how you did it but you definitely cheated” when he was upset about a Republican debate. He seems to have gotten a lot better at keeping his composure and staying out of trouble.

I also created a thread called “We are getting pummeled” and it was upvoted a lot (I think the most upvoted post I have ever created in this sub). It was also downvoted a lot. got a lot of personal attacks on me for the thread. I am sorry if this thread is equally as upsetting. I am not the biggest fan of Trump or anything but I am trying to be truthful and objective about his first debate performance. I think that this sub is a great group of people and it seems like we are all trying to work together for a common goal. I offer constructive (but brutal) criticism here because I think we can do better and I think we will do better next time. Also, personal attacks aren't cool.

Lastly, I don’t know what will happen in the next debate. I guess we will see what happens. I think that this sub is going to do a great job planning for the next debate. I think that we will be as organized and efficient as possible. Donald has been doing this a lot longer than we have. He is a lot more experienced. I think he might be up 2-0 by the time we fully get his number. I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think we are going to figure it out in a week.
