How do you keep your containers from getting really really smelly after a week or two?

I use the oare brand reusable containers and put them on the top shelf of the dishwasher after every use. I fill them up with rice, veggies, some chicken, sometimes some beans. I usually eat all the containers weekly. It seems like after a week or two I can still smell all the food that has been in them. This really bothers me because I feel like the smell will transfer into whatever food I put into the container next. I’ve never ran into this issue before but it’s never really been a big deal because I never ate rice and veggies and legumes exclusively.
