Why are minimalist care basics so expensive?

I’m just starting out on my minimalist journey and I’ve been starting with my bathroom products. My first mission is to start washing my hair, face, and body with the same soap for the sake of convenience and lack of packaging. I’ve been doing research on soaps, and I really feel like I’m missing something.
I want a simple, cheap, and gentle soap that I can use as a shampoo, face wash, and body wash. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I see a lot of soaps that seem perfect, except they’re priced at $10, $15, or even $20 for a 6oz bar.

Am I just ignorant on this? Is there something I’m not understanding about these products? Is there something wrong with just using a regular soap for my face and hair? I know I can buy regular soap or body wash or I saw a shampoo bar for $2 at the drugstore.

I really don’t want to spend $10+ for one soap and I would feel so ridiculous spending that much for the amount of soap I’d like to keep in my shower at any given time. I’m just so confused as to why these minimalist products are so expensive. Like I am confused to the point where I’m worried that there is something wrong with the idea of just using the same soap everywhere and I’m overestimating my ability to use a $2 drugstore bar.
