$1700.00 / Month Single Income. Where do I live?

I have always rolling around the idea of moving to different states. I make about $20.50 an hour, which equates to about 1700 a month. 2 person household. I have tried to look up states to see what I can live on that amount. I don’t want to be 8 hours a day at work just to stay at a moderate level for a family of 2 in the US. I don’t want to change my profession, and I am definitely not moving abroad. I cannot find a post anywhere on the web about average living costs by state in the US. I have tried googling multiple times and have come to seek the expertise of this sub. What states can I live in with just my paycheck at 1700 a month (net)? I need to save some money for a down payment on a house after 2-3 years. I also need a budget for a car, which is going to be a used car that’s under 10 years old. If anyone can offer me some advice on where to live I would appreciate it. I don’t want to live in the south. I am very particular about where I live and the culture around me. I’d rather not live in a big city. Advice? I would appreciate it. I am kinda going crazy about where to move to have a good quality of life.
